Great upgade choice for OEM earbuds. March 13, 2010 T. Longworth (New England) I've owned the CX-300 earbuds for over five months now and am very pleased with my purchase. Like many, I spent hours pouring over the reviews and finally decided to give these a try. The price was the deciding factor. I paid $21.77 included shipping and now, I can honestly say I would have been just as satisfied had I paid the list price. These are a HUGE improvement over the coin size earbuds that came with my Blackberry 9700. Initially I was startled by a sound I hadn't heard with my other earbuds... BASS! These things rock! The highs and mids are equally satisfying. I listen mainly to R&B(60's to present) and the Sennheiser's don't miss a beat. I can't imagine paying $100 for earbuds like some folks.
Don't make the mistake of getting too caught up in the reviews. Buy them.
Not bad, but probably many better ones out there. March 12, 2010 jennya2 (Ann Arbor) Mine is very sensitive to line noise. When the wire brushes against my shirt, even slightly, it makes a loud sound. So, I can't jog with it. It is good for flights, however, where I'm not moving around at all.
Good Sound, for smaller ears March 9, 2010 Kristopher Mckay (Long Island) I have small ears, these headphones work well and fit almost perfectly. I have gone through three pairs of these over the past four years, they have good bass and great treble. Best headphones you can get for $25. It does seem like all headphone cords suck a bit.
Beware the cord, like others have said March 9, 2010 J. Almeida I am by no way an audiophile but I had these earbuds for less than an hour before starting the return process. The earbuds sounded great but the cord is horrendous, the slightest movement of the cord near the plug and the sound would drop way down in volume, create loud static, or one of the earbuds would go completely off. The cord is so thin I can't imagine I simply got a bad pair so I'm going to try my luck with a different brand. Amazon was great with the return as always. Stear clear if you plan on moving at all while wearing these.
comfortable, great for "mismatched" ears March 8, 2010 E. A. Jones I'm a medical transcriptionist and need good headphones to hear voice files for transcription. Because my ears are "lopsided", I have avoided earbuds and similar headphones for years. My right ear just isn't as big as my left. Apparently, I'm not very symmetric. But many over-ear types of headphones make my ears itch after a while, and since I wear headphones 8-10 hours a day, I need something comfortable.
It was with the mismatched ear issue in mind that I tried these headphones, and I am so glad I did. The small size fits great in my right ear, the medium in my left, and overall this is a very comfortable set of headphones. They are durable and the cloth covers over the headphones are easy to take on and off and clean. The cord length is pretty good, although I wish it was just a little longer, just a couple of inches. The sound on music and video was terrific for the price point, but my equalizer and sound card output settings did require quite a bit of tweaking to get good sound on the voice-only files I listen to. Eventually, I achieved a really good balance and these headphones work great for transcribing, too.
I don't need sound cancellation on my headphones, but they do provide quite a bit of insulation from outside sound (and to keep others from hearing what you are listening to). You can put the buds in your ears so that it almost creates a vacuum seal, or you can gently adjust them so they sit comfortably but don't make as tight a seal. I discovered that was very handy this week when I had a cold and had ears popping all day.
